  • Are there any risks associated with your software?

    As with any automotive modifications there are minimal risks associated; however here at ecotune we invest heavily in our equipment and in the development of our technicians to ensure you get the best and most reliable service every time.
  • What if I'm not happy with the results?

    Customer support and satisfaction is our number one priority. If you are at all unsatisfied with your results or the service you received. Please contact the centre and one of our team will be more than happy to assist you.
  • Can the ecotune software be detected by my dealer or other garages?

    When ecotune perform a software upgrade on your vehicle we extract the original software from the vehicle either through the diagnostic port or via the ecu itself, this is then compared to a standard reference file and then we apply our optimised settings to the extracted software. Your new revised software is then programmed into the vehicle overwriting your standard software.

    Working in this manner ensures that when you visit the dealer for your routine service or for fault diagnosis the original information such as chassis numbers, hardware and software numbers are exactly as they should be. If your car is equipped with a programming counter then in most instances this is taken back one step to ensure that the only changes in your vehicles software are the performance related maps.

    The complex changes we make to the coding can only be detected and understood by professionals in the tuning and programming industry. For the avoidance of doubt we recommend a flash to stock before visiting your dealer or warranty provider.

  • How will the Ecotune service affect the longevity of my engine?

    Modern vehicles are engineered to such a high standard that that if you continue to look after your car in line with the manufacturer's recommendations, the effect on the longevity of your engine is negligible. In instances hardware upgrades may be recommended to achieve the quoted figures and to ensure your reliability is not compromised.

  • Do your products affect my motor insurance policy?

    As the ecotune software will enhance the overall performance of your vehicle, we recommend that you inform your insurers of the upgrade. Whilst the Ecotune software is completely transparent to those not in the industry, today's tough economic climate is putting pressure on insurance companies to exercise less discretion when processing claims and we would be disappointed to hear of any such rejections.
  • Will my manufacturers warranty be affected?

    We regularly carry out this enhancement to vehicles on main dealer's premises for customers requiring a little more spark from their new vehicle or their new fleet of vans that little bit more efficient. Local council van fleets and logistics companies have joined our list of happy customers. Whilst the changes we make to the software remain transparent to main dealer equipment, the manufacturers did not intend for your car to perform this well and as such are unlikely to honour a claim in respect of a tuning related failure. We suggest speaking to the dealer where the car was purchased and seek assurance in respect of this, if the dealer is on our panel of customers then they will be aware of ecotune and that we are a reliable source of tuning. We would like to take this opportunity to reassure our customers that we would not install software to a vehicle that would push the limits of the hardware to the point of failure. In some instances where customers request software for absolute performance then advice may be given regarding hardware upgrades to ensure longevity and absolute reliability.
