Position: Workshop Technician at Ecotune (Glasgow)

About the Role

As a workshop Technician, you must be fully competent in the servicing and repairing of vehicles to the highest manufacturer standards. With technical competence in the mechanics of a vehicle essential, you will also have thorough knowledge of the electrical components and be comfortable with using the latest diagnostic equipment to detect and diagnose faults and produce a schedule of work required.
You will support the other Technicians in the running of the workshop; reporting to our Operations Manager with timescales and remedial plans to ensure our customers are kept fully aware of the progress on their vehicles.
Relevant experience with German marques is essential.
Candidate’s Key Objectives
- To carry out performance product installation, diagnostics and repair of vehicles to the highest standards, including diagnosis of electrical and electronic problems.
- To work with the rest of the team in improving workshop knowledge and ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction and a first-time-fix are achieved for each customer.
- To talk directly to customers with any vehicle concerns and ensure that all work is carried out in full and followed up until resolved.
- To quality control all work undertaken by the workshop team.
- To ensure that workshop housekeeping standards are maintained at all times, including the use of special and personal tools.
- To ensure that, in conjunction with the Operations Manager, there is adequate workshop staff coverage to meet booking demands and opening hours.
- To take an active part in upholding the company’s Health and Safety policy.
- To hold and attend frequent meetings to ensure that any workshop concerns or ideas are recorded and reported back to management.
- To coach and develop other technicians within the workshop and share best practice where appropriate.
Essential Requirements
- Eligibility to work in the UK.
- A full, valid UK driving license.
- Experience in the service and repair of German marques.
Job Details
Work flexibility is essential; unfortunately, we cannot recruit a candidate who is not flexible with hours.
Contracted hours will be:
Monday to Friday – 8:30am–5:30pm.
Saturday – Working on a rota basis to meet the demands and timescales of the workshop.
Salary
Dependent upon experience.
