On Sunday, 14th April, staff and friends of Ecotune headed to England’s Santa Pod quarter mile strip to test out their recently-tuned vehicles at the infamous venue’s GTISpring Fest event.
It came just two weeks after a hugely successful outing to Scotland’s Crail Raceway, where the firm’s very own Porsche 911 Turbo S clinched the ‘fastest ever German car’ title with a time of 9.940 seconds @ 141.4mph.
Keen to keep up this momentum and check out Santa Pod’s new 2019 surface whilst catching up with some industry friends along the way, a convoy of several cars made their way down to the Northamptonshire strip for what turned out to be an equally-as-thrilling day out.
Check out all the action in the below video we put together of the trip, but here are the highlights of what went down:
- -Ecotune’s Porsche 991.2 911 Turbo S – 9.98 seconds @ 139mph
- APR Stage 2 Audi RS7 – 10.1 seconds @ 134mph (NEW WORLD RECORD FOR A STOCK TURBO RS7!)
Stay tuned for videos of more Ecotune-fettled cars that attended on the day, coming very soon…
It’d be rude not to give a huge shout-out to our friends from APR UK whilst we’re on this topic. Undoubtedly stealing the show on the day, the firm revealed its all-new stonking TT RS project car which had been built over the course of just three days prior to the event.
Boasting a TTE700 turbocharger with APR’s new matching Stage 3 software to back it up (as well as plenty of fuelling and breathing modifications) the stripped-out five-pot coupé managed to hit a time of 9.7 seconds on just its second run, officially making it EUROPE’S FASTEST TT RS without even breaking a sweat.
This car is a testament to APR’s range-topping software, that we at Ecotune cannot recommend enough. To book your car in for an APR tune, be sure to drop us a line on 0141 882 4669.
