OWNER SPOTLIGHT: STEVE FRASER’S APR STAGE 2 AUDI TTRS

In this month’s Owner Spotlight, we look at Steve’s stunning Audi TTRS which is an ongoing project for us here at Ecotune. The car is currently running APR's Stage 2 tune, pushing out 530bhp and 520lb ft of torque. But things are just about to get even more serious, so watch this space…
WORKING UP THE RANKS
A lover of performance and aesthetics in equal measures, Steve’s owned some of the finest show-going sports cars in his time. You might remember his previous vehicle; an 8V Audi S3 Saloon which was not only incredibly powerful but also looked the part thanks to air suspension and a string of top-class wheels.
It’s a similar story for his latest purchase here: this 2018 Audi TTRS. Already sporting an Airlift Performance air ride package as well as a vast array of engine hardware and software tweaks, over the one year that Steve’s owned the car it’s already become one of the most recognisable and most-loved examples in the country and beyond.
STAGE 2 POWER
With the help of Ecotune, Steve’s car is now boasting an APR Stage 2 level of tune. To fully unlock the impressive results that are now on tap, plenty of hardware modifications were installed before the calibration was applied, such as a turbo inlet hose/intercooler/boost hose combo from Forge Motorsport, an APR carbon fibre intake system, an SRM throttle body inlet, and a Milltek turbo-back exhaust system.
The car is also rocking a TVS Stage 2+ TCU software upgrade, also applied by Ecotune. This range-topping transmission calibration ensures the gearbox and differentials of the Audi are primed to deal with the extra power in only the best manner possible.
PERFORMANCE FIGURES
The result of all this work are peak numbers of 530bhp and 520lb ft of torque. The car also completed a quarter-mile drag strip time of 10.8 seconds @ 126.4mph – particularly impressive considering the Audi runs air suspension and also a full-weight interior!
PLANS FOR STAGE 3
Steve is currently in the process of collecting his The Turbo Engineers TTE700 turbocharger – a super-efficient hybrid blower that will allow that 2.5-litre TFSI engine to produce even more grunt when an APR Stage 3 calibration is applied by Ecotune.
