As well as taking the fabled cover slot with James Scott’s 511bhp Stage 3 Golf R (which you can read more about by clicking HERE), two more satisfied Ecotune customers also grace the pages of the latest issue of VWG magazine this month – the Mk7 Golf Rs of Gordon Guthrie and Blair Pattie.

First up: it’s Gordon’s Limestone Grey Golf R. Recently claiming the accolade of ‘fastest MQB car with DQ250 DSG gearbox in the UK’ at Crail Raceway, the car pushes out 540bhp thanks to its bespoke Ecotune Stage 3 tune (watch the car in action by clicking HERE).

Highlights of this car’s vast spec include a forged engine that has been strengthened to ensure it can withstand the boost offered up from the Turbo Technics V5 ‘charger, with Dodson Motorsport clutch packs, an APR TCU calibration, and even a Wavetrac LSD also making an appearance to ensure this hatchback can handle all the extra grunt.

Up next, it’s Blair’s Lapiz Blue Golf R. Sadly this car was recently sold by its owner, but whilst he had it, Blair enjoyed the 551bhp offered up thanks to an EFR 7163 turbocharger that provided boost to the forged long block that was built up in Ecotune’s workshop, tied together with another bespoke Stage 3 ECU calibration.

Also rocking Bilstein coilovers, Team Dynamics alloys with sticky Michelin rubber and sumptuous Recaro CS reclining bucket seats, Blair’s car made for the ultimate rapid all-rounder.
